This past weekend I got to shoot at this awesome monthly event at the Godown Nairobi South B. Well, it was a reggae event and no way I can miss. I am reggae! that guy. Now you know. I got to see the raw talent from the reggae artists who performed and more important got to see and witness one of the best reggae bands in Kenya currently perform.
The Gravitti Band is one of the fastest rising group of musicians who do live performances. I remember watching them at the last year’s Extravaganza Concert and certainly they are destined for greatness. Better watch out for them. BTW if you would be looking at booking them, I can hook you up.
The Mcee and Deejay of the day were the very talented Mc Philipo and Muzikal Sheriff respectively.
Enjoy some of the images I captured from the first performance to the crowd to the main act band; the gravitti.

So got myself a new camera body, canon of course and decided to give it a lower light testing experience. What a better place than the Canon sponsored Kenya Photographer’s Awards night….not sure how the 70d performed, all I know is that I pushed it to the maximum. Equipped with a 50mm f 1.4 managed to take almost all this shots on f 2.2 to a maximum of f 2.8 and iso maximum of 1600 and Shutter at 1/40-1/50. I have done a bit of light enhancement on light room and that it (please note, you might not get this vibe if you are not a photographer).
I am sending this images out but armed with 2 sets of helmets, waiting for those stones coming my way.
Finally got to witness yet again the biggest reggae artist perform live in Nairobi. I have personally been a great admirer of Chronixx (The Warrior) and his band ‘the Zinc Fence’, as together they have produced music that has always improved the look of reggae music. We give thanks for this awesome and talented musical team.
While singing along I managed to captured some memorable images that I will live to remember about this concert. I have a feeling though that Chronixx will be back, all he needs to do is just produce another album;this guy is a hit. Here are the pictures captured…Enjoy.

The Kenyan National Football Team (Harambee Stars) set out a target to get three points in the AFCON qualifiers. They were preparing for the all important match against Congo Brazzaville here in Nairobi. The national football federation organized two friendlies against Tanzania and Sudan as part of the preparations. Kenya played all its matches at the Safaricom Stadium in Kasarani. A win will raise the hopes of the players and the team in general.
Here are images from all the matches. First goes Kenya against Tanzania, later Kenya against Sudan and finally the must win game against Congo Brazzaville.
